Sharps injuries

Ministers have adopted a Directive aimed at achieving the safest possible working environment for healthcare workers through prevention from sharps injuries. The proposal was issued as COM (2009) 577 - Council Directive 'implementing the Framework Agreement on prevention from sharp injuries in the hospital and healthcare sector concluded by HOSPEEM and EPSU'. Member States have three years to transpose the legislation into national law.
