Data from the ’European Health Interview Survey’ (EHIS) show that between 8% and 25% of adults in the EU are obese. For both women and men aged 18 years and over, the lowest shares of obesity in 2008/2009 were observed in Romania and France. The highest proportions of obese women were found in the UK, Malta, Latvia and Estonia. The countries with the highest proportion of obese men were Malta, the UK, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
