Short Selling Regulation

Regulation (EU) 236/2012 'on short selling and certain aspects of Credit Default Swaps' will apply from 1 November 2012." Known as the ’Short Selling Regulation’, it has just been supplemented by an Implementing Regulation, setting out rules aimed at ensuring legal certainty on the detailed requirements which short sellers must comply with to adequately ensure the settlement of shares or sovereign debt when it is due.
