'Gender Balance Directive'

The European Commission has adopted a draft Directive ’on improving the gender balance among non-executive directors of companies listed on stock exchanges and related measures’. Issued as COM(2012) 614, the proposal ’lays down measures to ensure a more balanced representation of men and women among the non-executive directors of listed companies by establishing measures aimed at accelerated progress towards gender balance while allowing companies sufficient time to make the necessary arrangements.’
